Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 October 2026. Draft — to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
These terms apply to everyone who searches, books or pays for a ride through LongTaxi (the “Platform”). By booking a ride you accept them. Please read section 9 (our liability) carefully.
1. Who we are
The Platform is operated by [company name — to be filled in Transfers → Settings], [company addr — to be filled in Transfers → Settings], registration number [company reg — to be filled in Transfers → Settings], VAT number [company vat — to be filled in Transfers → Settings], e-mail [company email — to be filled in Transfers → Settings] (“we”, “us”).
2. What the Platform is — and what it is not
LongTaxi is an online marketplace. We help you find and book rides that are carried out by independent, licensed taxi and private-hire companies (each a “Transport Partner”).
- We do not transport passengers, we do not own or operate vehicles and we do not employ drivers.
- The contract for the ride (the contract of carriage) is concluded directly between you and the Transport Partner who accepts your booking. The Transport Partner is a trader and is solely responsible for carrying out the ride, for the vehicle, the driver, the licences and the insurance.
- Our own service to you is limited to the Platform: showing prices, passing your booking to Transport Partners, collecting your payment on behalf of the Transport Partner and handling your messages.
- The name and contact details of your Transport Partner are shown in your booking confirmation.
Results are listed by price, lowest first; vehicles too small for the number of passengers and suitcases you entered are listed last. Transport Partners do not pay for a better position.
3. Booking
- You enter the pick-up place, the destination, the date and local time of pick-up, the number of passengers and suitcases. The Platform shows a fixed total price for each vehicle class.
- When you book and pay, your request is offered to Transport Partners in the area. Your booking is confirmed when a Transport Partner accepts it; you then receive a confirmation by e-mail.
- If no Transport Partner accepts your booking, we cancel it and refund the full amount you paid. In that case we have no further obligation towards you.
- You must give correct and complete information: the exact pick-up address, the flight or train number for pick-ups at airports and stations, a phone number on which you can be reached during the trip, and the true number of passengers and pieces of luggage. A Transport Partner may refuse a ride if the information was wrong — for example if more people or more luggage turn up than booked — and in that case no refund is due.
4. Price and payment
- The price shown when you book is the total price of the ride as booked. It includes the driver, fuel, motorway tolls, taxes, and for pick-ups at airports meeting you in the arrivals hall.
- The price does not include extras you add or cause later: waiting beyond the free waiting time, extra stops, a different address, additional passengers or luggage, child seats not booked in advance, or cleaning after soiling the vehicle. The Transport Partner may charge such extras at its usual rates.
- You pay online by card or another method offered at checkout. Payment is processed by our payment provider; we do not see or store your full card number. We collect the payment as commercial agent of the Transport Partner: a payment made to us counts as payment made to the Transport Partner.
- After the ride you may leave a tip. Tips are voluntary and are passed on to the Transport Partner in full.
5. Waiting time and delays
- At airports the driver tracks your flight and waits for you free of charge for 60 minutes after the actual landing time. At any other pick-up place the free waiting time is 15 minutes after the booked time.
- If you do not show up and cannot be reached by the end of the free waiting time, the Transport Partner may treat the ride as a no-show. No refund is due for a no-show.
6. Changes and cancellation by you
- You may cancel free of charge until 24 hours before the booked pick-up time; you receive a full refund.
- If you cancel later, or do not show up, the full price is due and is not refunded.
- Changes (time, address, passengers) can be requested through your booking page. A change is only accepted when the Transport Partner agrees; it may change the price.
- Under EU consumer law there is no 14-day right of withdrawal for passenger transport services booked for a specific date.
7. If the Transport Partner cancels or does not show up
- If the Transport Partner cancels, we try to find another Transport Partner for the same ride at the same price. If we cannot, we refund the full amount you paid.
- If the driver does not show up and you report it to us within 24 hours of the booked pick-up time, we refund the full amount you paid.
- The refund of the amount paid is your only remedy against us in these cases. We do not pay for alternative transport, missed flights, trains or connections, hotels, or any other costs or losses. Claims beyond the refund can only be made against the Transport Partner, as the carrier.
8. Your conduct
Passengers must follow the driver’s reasonable instructions and the law: seat belts, no smoking, no illegal items. Children must travel in a suitable child seat where the law requires it; please book child seats in advance. You are responsible for damage you or your group cause to the vehicle. Animals travel only if booked in advance and accepted by the Transport Partner (assistance dogs always travel).
9. Our liability
- We are an intermediary. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the performance or non-performance of the ride, for the acts or omissions of Transport Partners and their drivers, for the condition of vehicles, for delays, traffic, accidents, lost or damaged luggage or property, or for missed flights, trains, connections, meetings or events.
- Any liability of the carrier is governed by the contract of carriage between you and the Transport Partner and by the law that applies to it, and is covered by the Transport Partner’s own insurance.
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability towards you in connection with a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity or loss of time.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
10. Events beyond control
Neither we nor the Transport Partner are responsible for failing to perform because of events beyond reasonable control, such as extreme weather, road closures, strikes, natural disasters, epidemics, or measures of public authorities. If a ride cannot take place for such a reason, the amount paid is refunded unless the ride has already started.
11. Complaints
Please send any complaint to [company email — to be filled in Transfers → Settings] within 14 days of the ride, with your booking reference. We forward complaints about the ride to the Transport Partner and help you reach an answer.
12. Personal data
We process your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. To carry out the ride, your name, phone number, pick-up and destination, flight number and booking details are shared with the Transport Partner and its driver.
13. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Otherwise the courts of Luxembourg City have jurisdiction.
14. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for future bookings. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones published when you booked.
